Sophia Fletcher is a passionate, soulful musician whose music is inspired by Nature and comes straight from her heart, with thought-provoking lyrics reflecting her compassion and justice for animals, humanity and environment.

Sophia adds "About 3 and a half years ago, I had a life changing accident; a fall, that left me with 2 broken arms and multiple fractures in my patella (right knee). After 8 months of being mostly bed ridden, and being in shocking pain, and nearly losing all hope; I decided that music was all that I wanted to focus on and create".

She adds "I realized that in a moment; your life can dramatically change. And, that life is a precious gift".

Sophia takes the listener on a journey through the musical world of freedom and joy, balanced with sorrow and injustice. She is a heartfelt animal, environmental, conservation and political activist/advocate for over 3 decades.

Sophia says she feels her spirit is free and harmoniously alive when playing music and finds it fulfilling to be an important voice to create awareness and empowerment. She would like that same freedom, recognition, love, respect and courage extended to all humanity.

Sophia has sung and danced since a child, being greatly encouraged by her father. She is a singer/song writer, medical herbalist, naturopath and teacher.

She has travelled and lived abroad for over a decade, as a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer, also singing in other languages; Greek and Spanish. Her love of music propelled her to pick up a guitar a few years ago, and she has never looked back.

Sophia adds "After the accident, it all changed. It took me a while to gain strength in my mind and body to continue to play guitar. Yet, I continued on, with the joy and passion of knowing that it is possible to play guitar and sing again". Through the challenges, Sophia has gone from strength to strength with her music, her original songs are for The Animals and The Earth.. She also does covers in a unique way. Sophia was recently honored with Green Music Australia adding her voice to a historic Music Scene Climate Change Declaration, and also a scholarship with a college to study music and theatre.

Sophia says "Even though I have pain everyday, it does not stop me from creating and playing music. My number one love in life. Some days are better than others".

Sophia was honoured to be one of only 15 musicians/event managers in Queensland, with the "Musicians Stopping Adani" and to be invited to a STOP ADANI Planning and Strategy Meeting on March 29th 2017 in Brisbane, with Rob Hirst (Midnight Oil) and Ash Grunwald.

In November 2017, following a peaceful protest outside Murwillumbah Chambers, a protest song; Co-written with Tweed Shire Council Mayor Katie Milne; 'Mine Games - A Message To Adani' was sung by Sophia Fletcher during community access, council voted 4:3 that contractors bidding for a civil construction tender must disclose any involvement with the coal mine, whether it is during the development or operational stages.

Sophias life revolves around progressing environmental outcomes through music.
