Homero Chavez is a world renown drummer, percussionist, producer, band leader, and educator.

He was born in El Paso, Texas into a very musical family. His early roots helped him to develop into an innovative player, instrument designer, band leader and a prolific clinician. In 2014, he was nominated for the first ever EDUCATION GRAMMY.

Homero's ergonomic approach to playing, teaching, and instrument design of the Cajon instrument has caught the attention of many of the percussion music industry magazines around the world such as Latin Beat, Drum, Modern Drummer, Rhythm, Musico Pro, Russia’s Community Drums and Back Beat magazines.

Homero has performed live and in the studio with national and International musicians. As a musical director, he leads the Latin Jazz Group, "Homero Y Una Noche" and the percussion group "Mixto."

He has been a presenter at over 500 clinics, workshops, and festivals around the globe including the Moscow Music Expo '08. As a producer, he has worked for radio, Internet, and TV media, and currently working in the studio on his up coming CD Una Noche and The Faith Healers' new CD. Also, an instructional production of his El Cajon Workshop. Homero currently teaches at Claremont’s Sycamore Elementary ASE program, Claremont Community School of Music, and at The Remo Recreation Music Center.
