James Hobb


Location: Broken Hill, NSW

Challenge: Cerebral Palsy

 

James Hobb is a drummer who lives with Cerebral Palsy, comes from Outback NSW in Broken Hill.

James says "Saw a good drumer at school and thought I would live to do that." He asked his my parents about it they looked at him oddly.

Eventually James' dad bought him a DXP student drum kit and from then on James started his musical journey. James adds "I played a bit in highschool and didn't get the work you had to put in and stoped for a few years" But James got inspired again and started drumming and organised lessons with and a really nice down to earth guy Marty.

James says "Marty taught me everything it takes to overcome my left side of my body and I started really getting better every day".

James' drumming heros are Phil Rudd, John Bonham, Jon Farris, and Chad Smith.

James bought a new Roland electronic kit and now plays for a hour everyday. He adds "I jam with marty every few weeks". He hopes he can play in a pub band.

He says "always rember never give up on your dreams".
