Jen Corben was born in Gosford on the NSW Central Coast is well known as a Singer/Song writer and also an accomplished Guitar Tutor with the Central Coast Community College for 23 years.

Sadly, Jen passed away in June 2019. Her legacy and music will live on.

Jen was born with a deformity called Talipies (feet turned up her legs), doctors corrected it at birth with plaster and meccano to bend her bones back, to give her the ability to walk, it left her with very weak ankles. Over the years through normal activity, the effects of this has come back to haunt her. Despite this, Jen has had an active childhood playing different sports, and of course her talent for music & entertaining took off and became her life.

Known to many of the Country Stars as “Guitar Jenny” she specialises in teaching guitar and singing Australian Country Music as well as some of the “old” songs.

Sara Storer and Troy Cassar-Daley have pleasure of knowing Jen as a personal friend and endorse her singing their songs which she truly does justice. Sara invited Jen on stage to a duet in February 2011 to which they sang "Katherine" to a sell out audience.

Jen has performed doing guest spots for local duos Dutch Courage, and Rollergirl at the Gosford RSL Club. Jen was the co-ordinator for the buskers for the Central Coast Country Music Festival each year and was runner up in their Busking Comp in 2005.

Jen entertains on a semi-volunteer basis for Opal Aged Care Berkeley Vale where she has had Adam Harvey come and sing with her when he's been available. She also entertains at Reynolds Court Bateau Bay Aged Care. Jen adds "I have been singing there for years".

Jen was a regular appearing at venues around Gosford and the New South Wales Central Coast. Over the years she has performed at Lizotte's Kincumber as part of their Live & Local program, has supported various benefit concerts with Liz & Rob KItney & The Rough Diamonds, and during the summer months, The Sanctuary Cafe at the Ken Duncan Gallery, and St Flacre Distillery at Erina whilst they were hosting live acoustic Sunday afternoons at their cafes.

In the early 90s, Jen was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, to which medications have taken their toll, the conditions of Lymphodeoma, Lipodeoma were laying dormant & Osteoporosis has been the cause of many fractures she has which can't be fixed by surgery. Jen adds "I have pallindronic onset RA in every joint and you never know where it is going to flare up next". Despite all this, Jen has continued to have as normal a life as possible, working & entertaining as best she could however in the past 3 years her mobility has declined quickly as these conditions take their hold.

With several CDs to her credit, in 2004, Jen released her debut CD Tide of Love, then 2008 independently released Acoustically Undercover, in 2010, Jen independently released "Jen - Live in Concert" which was recorded at Concord RSL during a Cancer Council Benefit. In 2013, Jen released another live CD Jen, Live at Lizottes. Her latest release Two sides of Jen was released im 2015.

Highlights for Jen have been singing with Sara Storer & Carter & Carter (a Golden Guitar Award Winning Duo) on 2 occasions and her Tamworth appearances in 2005.

As well as performing, Jen is an accomplished guitar tutor and worked at the Central Coast Community College. She says "I had to retire from teaching and performing in 2013 due to a decline in my health and lack of accessible venues. I just have a few close adults who come and learn from me now, I don't advertise anymore due to my condition getting the better of me more often than not. I hate letting people down when I cannot do it".

Despite all her challenges, Jen has adopted a Use it or Lose It attitude when it comes to singing and playing guitar.

Not one to be up on a grand stage, Jen is best heard in a more personal environment and it has been said by folk that they could sit and listen to her for hours.
