Born blind, and with only some of my sight surgically restored, Jim Leligdon could have easily grown up with a bitter attitude. However, through the support of family and friends, he has discovered that one can be blessed even in the face of physical adversity.

While God has not brought the miracle of normal vision to my life, He has guided me into meaningful endeavors that have strengthened my relationships with others and given me hope for the future. He has taught me that limited sight can be a springboard to a life of faith and confidence rather than a justification for failure.

I grew up in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, where I enjoyed the love and support of my family. In 1980, I learned to play guitar and began to write and perform.

While attending college, I performed many benefit concerts to raise money for a variety of charities. In 1985, I graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio/TV Production and Creative Advertising.

In 1988, I met Barb, and after a four year courtship, we were married. Her love, faith, and encouragement helped me to change my musical direction. I decided to use the abilities God had given me to minister to others, so in 1995 I began my journey into Christian music ministry.

Barb and I currently live in Avondale, Arizona with our children Courtney and Nicholas. We are members of Compass Church in Goodyear where we are both involved in a variety of activities. In addition to my work as a corporate trainer, I enjoy facilitating classes such as “Becoming A Contagious Christian”, “Sailing the 7 C’s of a Successful Marriage”, & “The Power of Parenting”. I’ve even had the opportunity to preach on a number of occasions.

Combining biblical teaching and life experiences, I want to share my music - and God’s message of salvation and hope - with others. This is the basis of each collection: "Sing" (2012), "Follow The Son" (2009), "Around The World In A.D. Days" (2003), "I Hear Love" (1998), "From Where I Kneel" (1995). Songs from these collections are currently being played on Christian radio stations in the Southwestern United States.

For live performances I bring only an acoustic 12-string guitar, and an acoustic praise team when requested. All I ask is an opportunity to offer my CDs for sale to those who attend. Inspired by what my faith in God has done for my life, I share my music, my stories, and God’s message with others so they may learn about the amazing love of Jesus Christ.
