In 1979, Martin joined Program, a band from New Milton in Hampshire, originally called Product 109, Program were part of the English "post-punk" movement and gained heavy publicity from a campaign waged by Tom Vague by use of Fanzine entitled "Vague".

The band gained notoriety and interest but unfortunately Martin received a severe electric shock while performing on-stage which stalled his career and indeed the growing cult band's too.

In 1982 Martin Kitcher formed a band called "Agagaga" and released 2 albums, "Greenworld" (1987 Blitz records) and "Agamemnon" (1990 Dew Records), whilst at the time Martin also wrote theme music including a number one theme tune for a video featuring Frank Bruno.

He continued writings after a back injury in 2009 and has been inactive on the live music scene in Britain since as a result, however has continued in a consultant role for some musical acts including Fitzpain who played at the Royal Albert Hall in London, in 2008, prior to the release of their second Single "Perfect World" which he also produced.

In 2010 he continued work on his MKM co-operative label and continued his career goal of creating and finding unusual alternative pop music.

Having being diagnosed with osteoporosis, Martin continues recovery from various stages and aspects of the illness at home.

In 2010, he was re-united with Andy Robins and Pat Tedd from the earlier days of his career and began re-working on an album for the band "Lovers And Other Strangers" , using mainly on-line mixing, from songs which date back to 1981 when the band were emerging before their split in October of that year.

In 2011, he worked on album at his home studio, half of which was written with Pete Farrugia-the album was call "HaHa That You Are".

Up until Martin's passing, despite having to have usage of a wheelchair to get about-Martin re-united with Carl Chamberlain and Bob Mace in a refomed and up to date version of Agagaga, which first aired live in a 25 minute set at Mr Kyps in Dorset UK. The line up intend to try and continue reaching new friends via a monthly "live" from home video campaign.
